Buschlen Mowatt Gallery launches their elegant new Dupal-based website.

Over the past three decades Buschlen Mowatt Gallery has become the most high-end commercial gallery in Western Canada, and is among the most reputable galleries in the country. This fall marks thirty years of success and continued growth, and will be celebrated with 18 months of events, museum quality shows, and a city-wide media campaign.

For Galley administrators, Drupal was a natural choice for their new website for it’s flexibility. Administrators are able to publish news to the site as well as update their artist and exhibitions listings with ease.

BC Law Reform Group launches new Drupal Website

When the British Columbia Law Institute wanted to develop a visually appealing and informative site that would help British Columbians access public legal education and promote the clarification the legal process, they selected Drupal as their CMS of choice.

With the new site, the BCLI accomplishes its goal of being friendlier and more welcoming to the general public, while incorporating a flexible content management system to allow in-house updates and serve as a platform for future growth.

The new site contains roughly 300 items in the publication database and 7000 items in the Law Reform Database and uses a custom Drupal search system so that PDF and Word documents are searchable in addition to regular site text.

The site also serves as a portal to the BC Law Reform Group, the International Law Reform Group, the Canadian Centre for Elder Law, the Canadian Journal of Elder Law, and the Builders Lien Act.

US Catholic Launches Integrated Site

US Catholic, a Claretian Publications magazine was looking to integrate the information from several sites into a comprehensive single site enabling them to make a more effective outreach to young adults with user-generated content, multimedia, blog and online newsletter subscriptions.

Claretian Publications is a ministry of the Claretians, a Roman Catholic order of missionary priests. The Claretians operate 19 publishing houses worldwide. Their ministries serve the poor in more than 60 countries.

The new site provides seamless offering of content from various Claretian publications. The Drupal platform was selected for its CMS, to support efficiency and more frequent maintenance of the site.

Drupal Design Completed for inForm Sport Training Systems

inForm Sport has been given a new web presence and marketing tool with their recently launched Drupal design. The client wanted us to create a flash animation to draw in the visitor so they can learn more about this innovative new sports device. Using state-of-the-art technology, this system allows coaches and athletes to measure, analyze and store the data from a variety of different tests right on the field.

IXM Launches Avantage Partners Website

Drupal Camp Vancouver

Calling all PHP web developers, themers, programmers, Drupal enthusiasts and anyone else interested in learning more about the hottest open source content management system in the world… Spread the word! Drupal Camp Vancouver is coming in less than a month!

On May 9th and 10th, the SFU Wosk Centre for Dialogue (Hastings & Seymour) and Workspace in Gastown will become a multi-track conference all about the Drupal CMS. This event is for all Drupal enthusiasts and will provide a forum for learning, sharing and networking. Some of the themes that will be addressed in the sessions are:

Drupal 101
Development (Beginner and Advanced)
Theming, Business & Community
Site Case Studies & Implementation.

Tickets are $20 for the two day event, and that includes 2 lunches and a lovely eco-friendly T-shirt that you can wear proudly. To register, you can purchase tickets online. There are just over 80 spaces available and they’re going fast so act quickly!

ImageX Designer Captures Silver at WorldSkills Competition

ImageX Designer, Joel Kitching, has won a silver medal at this year’s WorldSkills competition, which was held in Japan. This is the latest prize for the young designer who has also been awarded a silver medal for a provincial skills competition in 2005 and gold medals in regional, provincial and national competitions in 2006.

Competitors at this year’s WorldSkills Competition were presented with the task of creating a database-driven website for WorldSkills alumni to keep in touch with each other. Joel’s quick analytical and coding skills and good eye for design helped him snag second place against 20 other top web designers from around the world.
